“Whether I use vibrant oils, subdued watercolors or a single bold stroke of black ink on a white background, I want the viewer to be captivated, to be drawn in by the emotion and the life I try to give to each piece.”
A product of creative and supportive parents and family, my earliest recollection of art was coloring in my coloring books. Then becoming bored with those, I drew my own images to color. At a very early age the level of my talent became apparent when one of my teachers assumed someone other than me created that beautiful pastel of a horse's profile he was looking at. In grade school and high school with the guidance of many art teachers I gained much recognition and I received many awards. College brought my artistic abilities to a higher level. Rutgers University provided the intense art curriculum I craved. What emerged was a style that has become evident through a more confident technique. Although I paint and draw a wide variety of subjects in both a realistic and abstract manner I have a desire to express emotion through color and through a style that connects with many tastes.
I have participated in several exhibitions and juried competitions winning many awards. Some of my work is held in private collections. I now reside in Barnegat with my husband Ron and our rescue dog, Buella. We love living a short drive from Long Beach Island and its beautiful beaches and the smell of that salt air!
